Pickled Pork
Quick and easy pickled pork recipe that the whole family will enjoy.
Ingredients
1kg piece of pickled pork
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon of malt or white vinegar
Peppercorns, lightly crushed
1 bay leaf
Method
- Combine the brown sugar, malt vinegar, peppercorns in a saucepan large enough to hold the pork.
- Add the pork and water to the pot (enough to cover the pork). Bring to the boil then reduce to a low simmer. Cook for 50 mins per kilo.
- Let it cool so you can handle and slice to serve. Best accompanied with mash or roast potatoes, cabbage and parsley sauce.
Notes: You can also do a quick version, just place the pickled pork in a pot of cold water and follow the cooking instructions.
